The combination of a bold vision with technology.

At the end of 2014, in the place of the old Bałtyk cinema at the Kaponiera roundabout in Poznań, the construction of a skyscraper was commenced, which is now the most characteristic and recognizable element of the urban landscape.

Opened in June 2017, the high-rise building has 17 floors, 67 m in height and a total area of 25,000 m2.

The design of the building was developed by the Dutch architectural studio MVRDV in cooperation with the company NO Natkaniec Olechnicki Architekci studio, creating a skyscraper that looks different from each side, and which by its extremely irregular shape resembles an outstretched sail narrowing towards the top. The façade of the Bałtyk building is made of concrete, which imitates stone. Under this raw façade, a practically invisible aluminium structure is hidden, which was made by the company Alglob with headqarters in Poznań.
