What is an inter-storey band in an aluminium and glass curtain wall?
An aluminium-glass curtain wall inter-storey band produced as a mullion and transom construction. It is a curtain wall element located in the ceiling area. It is the section of the curtain wall within its connection with the interstorey ceiling, extending from the top edge of the aluminium transom above the ceiling of one storey to the bottom edge of the transom on the storey below the ceiling.
Inter-storey band are intended to prevent a fire from spreading vertically to adjacent floors of a building in the event of a fire. Inter-storey bands have a key function in meeting the fire safety requirements of the building. The solution is to provide an 80 cm high horizontal strip of EI60 fire protection at the junction between the fire barrier and the external wall.
A lintel-sill strip with a fire resistance of 60 minutes and a height of 1550 mm has been launched into the Yawal offer.
This solution complies with the technical requirements for the fire resistance of the building.
§ 224 - Technical requirements of the inter-storey band is governed by the Regulation of the Minister of Infrastructure of 12 April 2002 on the technical conditions to be met by buildings and their location.
