Released for use in July, the new public library in Auschwitz, called Galeria Książki (Book Gallery) is another public building where the Yawal products have been applied. The following systems have been employed to construct the building: FA 50, PBI 50, TM 75EI and TM 62.

The new seat of the library is not only a modern and functional facility with an area of over 5000 m2, but also a meeting place for all users. The library interior has been formed around open communication spaces, with no architectural barriers so that everyone who enters it, so to say, "by the way" could move around it freely, become familiar with its cultural offer, give back or borrow books, see exhibitions (at galleries located in the passageways), meet friends to a watch a film, or use the Internet. The library has an offer for people with impaired sight and hearing: films with audio description, a scanning and reading appliance and a computer screen reader.

The form of the facility reflects the idea of a shopping centre (hence the name "Galeria Książki"). The exposed façades have been completed: the main one, inviting from the access road inside the building, and the northern one.
The 50 FA aluminium profile system was used for the façade. It is a system intended for modern curtain walls with simple and complex forms (turns, folds, polygonal lines) and it allows for designing glazed roofs and spatial structures. High durability and mechanical strength, easy maintenance and cleaning, high thermal and sound insulation properties are the advantages which attract the attention of investors who focus on low maintenance costs of buildings and want to provide the facility users with maximum work comfort.
The interior colour is bright-coloured birch. The walls of the hall have been covered with silicate blocks. Selected elements have been moved randomly so as to refer to slightly open drawers of library catalogues. Mezzanines and pillars have been made of raw architectural concrete, so as to match it with picturesque acoustic lining, while balustrades have been completed with glass. This material promotes the perception of the building as an inter-permeating whole. The main hall and the communication hall are lit by natural light through openings in the façade and the YAWAL skylight. As a result, the building is almost full of sun.
The YAWAL internal systems provide aesthetics, and above all, security for users.

PBI 50N - is intended for walls and interior structures that do not require insulation: serving windows, non-bearing partition walls, exhibition windows, booths. The profile, being 50 mm thick, is one of the strongest profiles within its group on the market. Various configurations and layouts can be created within the system, any angles can be applied. A wide range of profiles, including reinforced poles, enables constructing large structures.
TM 75EI - This system allows for production of a wide range of doors, walls, and their combinations. It enables constructing structures within the EI 15, EI 30, EI 45 and EI 60 fire resistance classes and the S 60 and S 15 smoke control classes. The proposed solutions are characterised by very attractive values of frame heat transfer coefficients Ur ranging from 2.55 to 2.70 W/m2K and very good sound insulation properties Rw ranging from 38 to 41 dB.
TM 62 - It is a modern system of aluminium three-chamber profiles used for designing and constructing thermally insulated doors, windows, displays, partition walls and vestibules of various types. Very good thermal performance (Ur between 2.02 and 2.51 W/m2K) and sound performance (Rw between 35 and 42 dB) characteristic for the system guarantee that highest customer requirements concerning buildings will be met. Using aluminium as a construction material leads to obtaining aesthetic and long-lasting appearance of the profiles. Consequently, they can be used both in public utility buildings (schools, offices, hospitals, banks) and in residential buildings for many years. In addition to the classically shaped profiles, the system offers other solutions such as a "hidden wing" or "decorative line". The material set allows for constructing windows, doors, displays with increased resistance to burglary, classified according to EN 1627:2000 as classes 2 - 4. The maximum thickness of the filling is 50 mm. The aesthetic values of the structure are highlighted by high quality surface finish of the profiles: anodising and powder coating in any colour according to the RAL Colour Chart. Internal and external parts of the profiles can be coloured differently.

The new library will be a showpiece and an element used to promote its investor, that is the town of Auschwitz. The project has been prepared by the Susuł & Strama Architekci Office; the main contractor was the DomBud SA DomBud S.A.
